South Africa - Switzerland Bilateral Research Chair in Blockchain Technology
Build, Test, & Deploy Real World DApps
The South Africa-Swiss Bilateral Research Chair in Blockchain Technology is to explore advantages and barriers for integrating blockchain technology in supply chains management.
Two different focus areas of implementation are envisioned within the import/export of goods in South Africa and Switzerland, namely the agri-food and drugs/medical devices supply chains
Blockchain
Peer-to-Peer
Blockchain allows for communication between nodes removing the need for a centralized server
Borderless Application
Build decentralized apps (DApps) on blockchain that operates globally
Immutability
Blockchain makes recorded data impossible to altered or deleted ensuring trustworthiness
Smart Contract
Set the terms of agreement using self-executing contract which removes intermediaries
Decentralized Ledger
Blockchain provides a record-keeping system which is distributed for all parties to see
Full Use Case in Agri-Food
Trace and authenticate Agri-Food supply chain, from farm to table, ensuring transparency
Demo Day
We showcase real-world projects designed and developed by UJ Blockchain.
